General Introduction

Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute & hospital radiology department is one of the very first specialized divisions for medical imaging. Radiology department has been very famous and influential in both medical imaging and oncology, has been at a very high academic level in the field of somatic tumor diagnosis, radiomics, and functional imaging technology.

Faculty / Staff

Radiology department is comprised of three parts: X-Ray, CT and MRI. Here we have 86 staff, including 40 doctors among which 13 have got doctoral degree, 24 have master degree. 

Research

Main research fields include clinical application of CBBCT; lung cancer screening with LDCT; imaging platform construction for clinical comprehensive evaluation of medicine; functional imaging and spectral imaging of MRI and CT. Our research has been at an advanced level worldwide. In the last 3 years, our department has achieved 1 Ministry of Science and Technology key research plan, 5 National Natural Science Foundations, 1 general program of Tianjin Science & Technology Commission, 1 key program of Tianjin Health and Family Planning Commission, 13 hospital-level grants, 1 Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute & Hospital “13th Five-Year Plan” comprehensive investment academic construction plan, 4 transverse projects, including 1 NIH program, 3 national key research projects. Twenty-five SCI papers have been published.

Clinical Service

Radiology department has a complete range of equipment, with the increasing level of imaging equipment and technology, we are offering examinational and diagnostic service for more and more patients.

In 1992, Tianjin Medical Imaging Center was established at our department with the permission of Tianjin Health Bureau. Since 1994, we have been organizing consultation offered by famous experts of radiology from Tianjin every Thursday morning, the radiology documents of over 12000 patients with rare diseases have been consulted since the center was built, over 50% of which were ecdemic. We not only help the patients solve the medical problems, also help them earn valuable time for treatment. Our department has won a wide range of social praise.
