The Opening of the New Outpatient Clinic Building of TMUCIH

   The new outpatient clinic building of Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute & Hospital (TMUCIH) was officially put into use on June 16, 2019. This realized the purpose of further improving the quality of medical service and patients’ experience, and meeting the increasing demand for medical treatment and hospital development.

  After intense and orderly preparation, the hospital successfully realized a seamless docking and smooth transition from the old to the new outpatient building.

 


  The new outpatient building covers an area of 10,000 square meters. The main building consists of 10 floors above ground and 4 floors below ground, with a total construction area of 80,000 square meters. There are more than 90 consulting rooms, 25 operating rooms and 180 beds in ambulatory units. It is equipped with self-service facilities such as luggage storage, wheelchair rental, mobile phone charging, and drinking water. The daily outpatient reception capacity can reach 8,000-10,000.

  In the area of treatment processes, the new outpatient medical technology building is constructed on the principle of smart hospitals, being equipped with a total of 100 intelligent self-service machines., Many functions such as appointment booking, registration, payment, and inquiry about result can be accomplished through mobile phones or self-service machines, resulting in a significant reduction in time spent queuing. For the convenience of patients and to familiarize them with the operation of these facilities as soon as possible, the hospital has set up a specialized volunteer service team, which can provide one-to-one guidance for local, out of town and elderly patients who are not used to using machines, so that these patients are “less worried”.


  The new outpatient building provides a full-service diagnosis management and treatment service model, integrating online registration; specialist clinics; multidisciplinary consultation, examination and diagnosis; intelligent medical treatment; a day chemotherapy center; difficult cases consultation; health education and other functions, to realize the "One-stop" service from prevention to rehabilitation for cancer patients.
