May 12th International Nurses Day was successfully held in TMUCIH


From May 8 to 12, 2023, launched by the Department of Nursing, Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute & Hospital (TMUCIH), the May 12 International Nurses Day was successfully held. The theme of the event was to meet patients' diversified health needs of cancer prevention and control.

Free Examination and Consultation

May 11, 2023, 26 Nursing Leading Talents and clinical nursing experts gathered and held free consultation to cancer patients, aimed at dispelling the misconceptions about cancer, guiding people to adopt healthy lifestyles via disseminating the information on cancer nursing and care, so as to increase public awareness of cancer care. More than 1000 copies of nursing public education materials were handed out, over 100 people participated in blood pressure test, and 500 in total participated in the event.


Nursing Consultation in Cloud Space

TMUCIH made full use of the Internet Hospital, integrating the internet, nursing and health, and adhering to the "patient-centered" service conception. From May 8 to 12, nursing consultation in cloud space event was held and 100 professional cancer nurses were online to answer the questions of disabled and cross-provincial patients. 3000 people have benefited from the event. 


Vice President of TMUCIH, Jing Hei; Deputy Director of the Party Committee Office and the Head of the Department of Cultural Promotion, TMUCIH Internet Hospital Campus, Shasha Liu; Head of the Administration Office, TMUCIH Internet Hospital Campus, Henglei Dong, and the Head of Department of Nursing in TMUCIH, Wanmin Qiang, and head nurses from clinical departments investigated and further discussed on how to deliver an efficient and  better service to cancer patients via internet hospital platform.

      In recent years, TMUCIH actively promoted the five-in-one integrated cancer management system with prevention-screening-diagnosis-treatment-management . For instance, keeping up with the latest technology outcome, new therapy and methodology at home and abroad of cancer treatment and care based on the evidence-based and standardized health life-time management. 

Public Education Seminar   

        From May 8 to 12, TMUCIH nursing team focused on the hot spots of public concern and presented new themes every day. 9 nurses specialized in cancer nursing, with healthy lifestyle and behaviors as the starting point, provided professional guidance on pain, blood glucose, intestinal tract, nutrition, emotional care management. cardiopulmonary function, lymphedema, catheter maintenace and postoperative rehabilitation. More than 300 patients and family members interacted on-site, and watched online simultaneously for more than 3000 people.
