Dr Zhao got his oncology doctor degree in 2005 in Cancer Institute and Hospital, Chinese Medical Academy, Peking Union Medical College. After then, he has been working in University of Michigan Medical Center for two years for his post-doctoral research. He has been engaged on clinical oncology for about 20 years. He is experienced in many kinds of malignant tumors, especially in thoracic tumors such as lung cancer, esophageal carcinoma, and thymoma. He has done many clinical and basic research works on the radiotherapy of lung cancer, esophageal carcinoma, neo-adjuvant and adjuvant radiotherapy, multi-modality therapy for locally advanced, unresectable lung cancer and esophageal carcinoma. He is proficient in the advanced radiation techniques, such as 3-dimensional conformal radiation therapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, using functional imaging technique in radiotherapy, etc. He has done many animal and clinical researches on the prediction and prevention of radiation-induced lung toxicities. He now takes part in one international cooperation project, and in charge of one national natural science foundation supported project. He has more than 40 papers published so far, among them, more than 10 papers were published in SCI journals.
